The 3-level Vasco da Gama Shopping Centre is part of the Parque das Nações (Park of Nations), which was originally built for the 1998 Lisbon World Exposition. Found on the eastern side of the city, this structure features a glass ceiling and overlooks the Tagus River (Rio Tejo) and the Vasco da Gama bridge – Europe’s longest bridge.

Avenida da Liberdade is a boulevard in Lisbon with a layout that’s reminiscent of France's Champs-Élysées. Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Carolina Herrera, and Loja das Meias are just some of the luxury stores lining the cobblestoned road. Fashion Clinic also has an outlet on this high-end fashion street, which connects the Praça dos Restauradores and Praça Marquês de Pombal parks.

Mercado da Figueira is an enclosed upscale supermarket where you can find the best local food products in Lisbon. You can select from an array of fruits, pastries, and raw and cured meats, fresh and canned fish – particularly Portugal's Conservas brand – wine, honey, and olive oil.

LX Market
A trendy Sunday market beneath Lisbon’s landmark bridge

LX Market features over 50 shops, restaurants, and bars, all located under the 25th of April Bridge in Lisbon. The bridge was named after the date of the 1974 pro-democracy Carnation Revolution. Textile factories owned by the Companhia de Fiação e Tecidos Lisbonense originally stood on the property during the 1840s.
Today, various goods from cheesecakes, coffee, wine, books, pottery, vintage clothing, and antiques are sold by independent stores and cafés at this 23,000-square-metre spot. Vintage and second-hand goods, as well as fresh produce, go on sale every Sunday. Aside from buying unique souvenirs, you can also marvel at large-scale street art on the stall exteriors.

Rua Garrett
Elegant shops amid old buildings at the heart of Chiado

Rua Garrett is the main street of Lisbon's Chiado district. It is bound by the A Brasileira café on one end and by the Aramazéns do Chiado mall on the other. Big clothing brand stores like Hugo Boss, Massimo Dutti, and Zara, as well as jewellers Swarovski and Tous, have outlets on this street.
Inside the United Colors of Benetton store are some of Europe's first elevators, which have gilded interiors and stools with velvet upholstery. Also on Rua Garrett is Livraria Bertrand, the Guinness World Records holder for the oldest running bookshop, having started operation in 1732.

Feira da Ladra is considered the city's oldest flea market. It was held in various areas of the Portuguese capital since the 1270s before opening permanently in Campo de Santa Clara Park. You’ll usually find artwork, ceramics, glassware, and second-hand items like old coins, vinyl records, used clothes, and military gear laid out on blankets here on Tuesdays and Saturdays. As is the case at all flea markets, most of the good products get purchased first, so start shopping early if you want to haggle for a lower price.
