Comfortable Stay but Lacking Winter Warmth
We arrived early to park, and while the staff member seemed unsure at first, they were ultimately very helpful and allowed us to check in early.
The room met expectations, but we weren’t shown how to use the air conditioning. Returning at 11 pm, we found the room exceptionally cold and couldn’t get the heating to work. The bed had only a sheet and two blankets, making for an uncomfortable winter night.
The shower was warm rather than hot on two occasions, though the sink tap provided hot water.
Breakfast was well managed despite peak-time crowds, with the sole staff member handling service impressively. The filter coffee was good, though the milk had small floating bits. The menu breakfast was excellent.
At checkout, I mentioned the heating issue and was told we needed to activate the heating function—something I’d recommend staff explain to guests upon arrival. I also suggested offering duvets in winter rather than requiring guests to request them. The hotel assured me they’d look into the shower temperature.
Overall, Ethos Hotel is a clean, safe, and budget-friendly option close to the city centre. However, if visiting in winter, I recommend confirming how the heating works and requesting extra bedding upfront.
