This resort was clean and had a beautiful layout with plenty of pools, dining options, and beach access. The staff providing services, food, and drinks were all excellent. I cannot rate the property more than four stars, however, for two reasons:
First, it’s now owned by Holiday Inn Vacation Clubs which appears to be a timeshare business. This means that, if your stay crosses over a Saturday, you will likely have to change rooms to accommodate Saturday check-ins. This is in the fine print of the reservation but should be more explicit that it will likely happen. The room we were moved to did not have as nice a view or as good water pressure as the first room.
Second, the concierge accompanied us to our room upon check-in to give us the lay of the land and a map, explain the food options, etc., which was fine. But then she also tried to sell us excursions and get us to attend a timeshare owner meeting. I’m sure it’s her job, but it could be done more tactfully without the concierge following us into our room and sitting down with us at the dining room table.
The food was decent but not as good as some of the other premium all-inclusives I have stayed in.
Not the resort’s fault, but the sea in this location is not calm, die to the deep water and winds. We did have two calm days out of the five we were there. The resort does offer a shuttle to another property with a calmer, shallow beach.
All in all, a property with great facilities and service.
