Left Deeply Dissappointed
I was prepared to write a glowing, detailed review of cleanliness, comfort, eco-friendiness, service and overall satisfaction with my stay. Then I discovered shortly after leaving the hotel my room deposit was not returned. I received no call or email about the charge. I thought it was a mistake. The next morning I discovered I forgot to return the room key. I immediately called the hotel with the intention of returning the key. I was told the hotel tried to contact me but was unable to reach me. The management was forced to change the room lock and charged me. I understood I made my mistake, but in all truthfulness, I received no communications about the missing key or the intention to penalize me. I was charged within an hour of leaving the premises. I understand their decision--it's a valid hotel policy. I feel the action was 'cold and calculated' response to an honest mistake. I'm deeply disappointed.
