It is difficult to explain without writing a novel how terrible the service at this hotel is. Apart from the manager and bar supervisor, the place is run by kids who have no idea about customer service and don't understand English, which made meaningful communication very difficult. Because my stay was out of season apparently, there was no buffet breakfast. I was not impressed. After a couple of false starts I settled on boiled eggs and toast, but felt short changed by the lack of choice. But this was insignificant compared to being ignored by the young staff who had clearly not be trained, nor had their duties clearly spelled out to them. On the very first night, when I had decided to eat in, the young waiter picked up my half eaten piece of bread from the plate in front of me and placed it back down on the plate which had my starter on it. Rule no 1 - NEVER touch a customer's food. Rule no 2 - don't keep customers waiting for service - they didn't understand that one either. In the end, I sought all my non-essentials (lunch, afternoon tea, early evening drinks) from the hotel next door where they could converse with customers AND didn't ignore them. I actually felt sorry for the kids. It's not their fault that they have not been properly trained and have not been supervised.
I would strongly discourage anyone from booking this hotel as you will be very disappointed. I was so disappointed that I checked out almost two days early.
