positives first. we had a lovely time and i enjoyed my swims in the beautifully clean pool. we were able to take fruit for breakfast and some cereal. the staff were kind to allow us back in to get some hot water for a thermos before a long drive home.
on the other hand, we booked a superior room and felt we did not get what we expected.
we booked thru hotels.com as we had vouchers, but this meant we could not benefit from the offers the hotel had.
i understand the rooms are all different, but this was something else. i was told the hotel was full due to half term, but i do not think the adjoining room was used, and when i saw it open in the morning, it seemed probably double in size and had a lovely modern bathroom. our room was pretty small - i banged my head on the tv twice. the curtains which i am told are due to be upgraded were almost impossible to draw - luckily my husband is tall and he could get closer to the rail. the hanging space is only for skirts/shirts - not for anything full length. the views were special, but we had to move the table and chairs to get closer to the window that opened. the bathroom was very tired - narrow bath with a shortish, fraying shower curtain, a wc raised on a plinth, and the door banging against it. finally, i think a hook or two in the bathroom would be appreciated.
i have been before and had a lovely twin room on the third floor. in future i would be careful to know what i am geting before paying for an upgrade to a superior room
