Oh, where to begin, we had stayed in Mövenpick, thinking that with a small child we should "upgrade" to a 4-star hotel compared to our usual 3-star choices in the past. We were wrong. Our child got sick during our stay and we needed to keep hydrated. At one point we ran out of water and I went down to reception around 3 am to get some. And to my surprise, they didn't have any! And they couldn't help because all the vendor machines, with which they normally sell the waters from were ran out and both lobby bar and breakfast room were closed. So in the middle of Amsterdam, in a 4-star hotel we ended up without water because of , I would say lack of service-mindedness.
Another problem we had was that in one of the days we returned to our uncleaned room at 5 pm. And when we called the reception to ask about this, someone came to "clean" the room, but of course since we were in she could only clean the bathroom part. I wish I didn't see how she cleaned. As I mentioned our child was sick and he produced lots of diapers, and cleaning lady emptied our trash into the bigger trash of hers and pressed on them with her bare hands and then continued casually to touching everywhere in the room and also changing the cups etc. I needed to get rid of everything afterwards.
One final thing, you can see the mattress you get from a 4-star hotel for the 3rd person in a triple room in the picture I attach!
