The hotel is under renovation, but it doesn't seem to be a holistic approach. Some things are very modern and new-looking, while other things are literally falling apart and filthy. The room itself could be very impressive, but several of the new(ish) brass fixtures were installed incorrectly (towel bars upside down) or in odd locations (covering an electrical outlet, for instance). My room was spacious, quiet and clean, but once stepping into the common spaces, there was a stale odor and the carpet and other aspects weren't clean. There is little-to-no soundproofing of rooms, and the room doors slam shut noisily. The downstairs restaurant opened very briefly on Sunday, but nobody came and, after I came back from a 30-minute walk to the capitol, it was closed. Hopefully the renovation will address all these issues.
