Disappointed to say the very least!!!
We recently stayed in Newcastle for our Annual District Swim Meet. We have stayed at the hotel as a Club for years and have had a nice time and they have been fairly accommodating. This year it was a disaster. We always rent a room to have our swimmers eat and hangout on Saturday evening while the parents enjoy Grazers. The General Manager took absolutely forever to firm up plans and was less than friendly. When Saturday came and we were gathering up all of our swimmers to eat (pizza that we also ordered from Grazers) Bonnie came upstairs and absolutely lit into all of the parents and kids. She was yelling and cursing about how loud everyone was being and that they had other things going on in the hotel and that we were going to be fined if we continued to be loud. We had almost 20 families staying, paying and dining in their hotel. Add that up - lots of $$ for the dead of winter in a small town. The hotel was full mostly in part to the swim meet. We did end up leaving and taking our party to another establishment that was more than willing to accommodate all of us last minute. We were still charged to have the room in which we didn't use and we took and paid for all of the pizzas that the kids were suppose to enjoy. If the swim meet is still held in Newcastle - we will not be staying here. Very disappointed in the staff. It all very well could have been handled better.
