Very comfortable bed in a clean and cozy room. The staff were all super friendly and very helpful. I will warn you, if you are unfamiliar with old buildings in NY, give the hot water a couple minutes to get going before you shower.

O quarto só vai ser limpo se vc pedir na recepção. Quando cheguei estavam arrumando a tv do meu quarto e demorou uns quarenta minutos pra ficar pronto sendo que cheguei 16h. Fora isso os funcionários são super educados e solícitos. A localização é mais do que perfeita. Compensa qualquer deslize. De verdade é uma localização excelente mesmo. E acredito que o valor dele seja muito por isso. Da pra ir a pé pra vários passeios.

This was a great place to stay. Justin made the stay even more welcoming. Everything was clean and presentable and the rooms are good for two. If you want to explore all day - this is the place! Also very safe. Good pizza next door!

For lower-east Manhattan, the Gatsby Hotel is a pretty good value. It is a good compromise if you don't want to pay out the nose but also don't want to stay in a dive. The room was clean and actually the size it looked in the online photos. The beds were quite comfy - and I am picky! Two small items it would be good for the hotel to address is adding more electrical outlets and tending to repairs. Our TP holder was upended without one end installed, if you can picture that. It was difficult not to dump the TP on the floor. I appreciated the tourism literature in the lobby, and I was glad there was the little lounge by reception so I could get a free coffee in the mornings! Great location for our purposes!

This hotel is in a great location, with close access to the subway and away from the big touristy locations to feel more like a local. However, the hotel itself is pretty run down. Paint chipping off the walls, small rooms, towels had spots, even the breakfast bar was always out of cups for coffee and tea and the muffins were not restocked until our last day, while looking like they've been there for months. We also were not given a remote, and when we asked for it, apparently it was waiting at the front desk with no notification for a day or two. Once we finally did get the remote it still did not work. Luckily, we did not need it much. On another note, on our first night we noticed a sign that stated there was quiet time

Staff very accommodating. Room was clean but very noisy from traffic on E Houston Street. Hot water literally took 10 minutes or more to arrive in the shower. The “Resort Fee” was unwelcome and for what reason??

No Working TV (no Cable box), Wires unplugged from the TV. No remote No Internet in my room. Broken Shelf in the bathroom. Broken AC Unit cord. Tried email reservations about the problems and have heard nothing. Extremely disappointed with the stay

Staff were great. Especially the night time staff member. Always cheery and greeted us when we returned. Not much tv channels for night time but that didn’t matter. Our room wasn’t cleaned once over the 4 nights which I thought was weird. Good hotel to get your head down at night.
