Ripped off. Place shut down
As in the previous reviews, this place is shut down! Drove to the abandoned place with a for sale sign on it. They took my money and I'm in process of getting it back with Expedia. This place needs to be removed from here!

It is Closed Down
Got there and it was closed, for sale, and Vacant. With a homeless guy sleeping on the floor inside. Attempting reimbursement from Expedia.

It's close!
The hotel it's close, since october 2017. Even the house has a sign ”sale" please, don't do the check in for this plase. We already lost our money and time.

Nous avions bookeer par booking pour notre premiere nuit au costa rica, à notre arrivé de l’aéroport, nous avions pris un taxi. Personne à l’hotel ne nous a ouvert et personne à répondu au téléphone quand nous avions appelé! Le paiment à également été pris sur ma carte de crédit!

This hostel no longer exists!!
I made my reservation and fully paid for Kairos Hostel mid November, all I saw were good reviews. My friend and I show up on the afternoon of check in to find a for sale sign on the front fence and a young kid sleeping on a cot inside the empty house. The kid stated that the house is for sale and he is watching over it for the owner. As soon as we encountered this, we got right online and looked at reviews. There is a recent review from the beginning of December that states exactly what we encountered. This could potentially have been a dangerous situation for us. PLEASE DO NOT RESERVE A ROOM AT THIS HOSTEL IF YOU DONT WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF!!

FAKE!!
Normalerweise schreibe ich keine Bewertungen, aber das hat mich wirklich geschockt! Ich bin am Flughafen in ein Taxi gestiegen und sind zu der angegebenen Adresse gefahren. Dort angekommen hab ich gleich das Hostel von außen wie auf den Bildern erkannt, nur dass draußen ein fettes Schild mit „se Vende“ also zu verkaufen stand. Als ich dann reingegangen bin stand die Türe sperrangelweit offen und das Gebäude war leer geräumt! Zwei Männer saßen auf Stühlen im Gebäude und meinten sie hätten noch nie was von dem Hostel gehört. Es war schon am dunkel werden und ich wollte einfach nur noch ins Bett. Ich musste mir dann für teures Geld in der kurzen Zeit noch etwas anderes buchen! Sowas ist mir noch nie passiert.

This hostel is a total rip off
This ad is a SCAM. It doesn't exists. Nobody knows about it and locals have never heard of such "hostel". They just take your money and disappear. No answer to phone calls. Absolutely nothing after they run away with your money.

Couldn’t Find the Hotel
My rating is based on me spending over 1 hour trying to find the hotel without any luck. I put in the name of the hotel/hostel in google maps and waze and when I arrived (according to the gps) I was standing in front of a property that was being leased. I phoned Kairos hotel numerous times and got the answering machine right away. I phoned expedia and they also tried contacting the property, no luck there either. Expedia booked me into another property, which I’m grateful for.

Amazing Service!
Amazing level of service! Flight was delayed 4hrs so we did not arrive until 4am. The owner was so sweet & polite even in the middle of the night. We slept for a few hours then got up to a nice home made breakfast. He suggested an uber back to the airport so we could get our rental car. Uber was $12 as opposed to the $40 cab ride in the middle of the night. It is exteremly hard to find, but our cab driver called the hostel for us & was talked through the directions. Kudos to the hostel for superior service.

Hostel in city
Very relaxing stay. Was there for one week. Close to markets, bus routes, beautiful scenery. Breakfast every morning. In room with four beds. No problems. Staff was very helpful. Back packers delight. Had dental work done while here. It was very comfortable for me. Felt like a outside family gathering.

Nice clean friendly Hostel
Nice hostel. I had private room with bath. Very nice and clean. Owners were very friendly and spoke English. Small town short walk to eat or drink. Good accommodations. Scenery good. Not close to beach or airport.

Hard to find, but worth the search!
This is a very nice traditional large Costa Rican house in upper Escazu. It's away from the "Gringo" part of the city, set well back from the road at the top of a hill, with sweeping views of the surrounding area. It's not far to walk to groceries or restaurants. The property is a little hard to find, there is a sign, but it has distinctive windows and they are well lighted, this is how you'll find it from the street (look at the pictures so you know where you're going). The dorm room was clean and comfortable. It may get hot at night if it is full, there is no AC or ceiling fan. I was the only guest, though, so it was fine. The owner is very friendly, US educated, perfect English, and well experienced in hospitality. The room was clean and comfortable. There is a shared kitchen and it was clean. I had to leave very early (4am) and the owner opened the gate for me so I could leave on time.

Nice view and location with great service
Located at the top of a hill, the view from the front porch is great. A very clean and safe environment. The room was very comfortable. The best part of my experience however was the service which is excellent.
