8/10
Pros: It is a good location to be in the middle of downtown St Joseph. Lots of shops, restaurants, and a farmers market on Sat morning. It's very close to the water (50 steps across the street) in Sliver Beach Park but not the best side. This is the smelly side where the barges are. Still a nice walk and you can find a good spot to sit on one of the benches further into the park.
Free parking at the hotel and there is so much in walking distance to enjoy.
The hotel was clean, beds were typical hotel beds. Comfortable enough for a few nights. It's much cooler by the water so expect a cooler room.
The lobby was clean and cute. It gave false hopes for the rest of the hotel.
The staff is friendly and accommodating. I had no issues with any requests and they are prompt.
Cons:
Rooms are clinical feeling. Not cozy at all. Just a bed, couch, tv, fridge. Nothing felt warm or inviting. Rooms don't have carpet, colors are drab.
Balcony was only big enough to stand on. No chairs can fit. I thought I could sit and drink coffee but not at all. The view was of St Jo. Trees block the water. It does help with light as the room is very dim.
The hall looks sketchy like a thriller movie. It was clean but drab looking doors and carpet. Not very inviting.
Breakfast is slim continental. Just a few breads, muffins and fruits.
There is no pool or hot tub which I thought was listed in the description.
Overall depending on your purpose of stay it's a nice decent hotel.
