OK if you can tolerate the quirks
Fortaleza Suites is a somewhat quirky hotel, very conveniently located in Old San Juan.
The key system was unusual, the room key was stored in a 4 digit lockbox outside the room. With no deadbolt on the door, I would be concerned about security except everyone must pass the front desk, and the outside door is locked much of the time.
Our room had a refrigerator, and there is a common area with a kitchen with microwave, shared dishes, and tableware. Buying frozen dinners at a nearby supermercado and heating them worked well for us one night for dinner, rather than paying Old San Juan prices at a restaurant.
Not so good, but tolerable, was the shortage of electric outlets. We had to unplug a dehumidifier to have a place to charge phones overnight. This issue is mitigated by outlets and a charging station in the common area.
Marks against include the non-working TV, apparently the Dish box was out and couldn't be replaced in the three nights we were there.
The plumbing was flaky. The shower worked at a light but ok pressure, with the temperature fluctuating whenever someone else used water. There was a clearly long standing leak from the pipe holding the shower head. And they asked that used toilet paper be disposed in a garbage can rather than the toilet, due to sensitive pipes.
Worst was the lack of housekeeping service. Asked daily via text if we wanted service, we said no once and yes the next, but the room (including toilet paper bucket) was never cleaned.
