Had a room booked at Nobu for months. Got in late (delayed flight), went to check in and was told there was no room for us due to a maintenance issue. Slightly annoying because we were looking forward to staying there our first time, but they said they upgraded us to a suite at another tower in Caesar’s so seemed like it would work in our favor. The manager “walked us” over to the Caesar’s check-in, but didn’t get us any priority, just showed us the back of the line to wait in (useless, have stayed there before and he knew that). He said we could check back at Nobu in the morning if we wanted to try to switch back, but didn’t bother to say they would check and get ahold of us. The agent at Caesar’s was rude, but told us we were upgraded to an executive suite (great!). Went to the back for several minutes and came back only to tell us they had given that room away because no one told them to hold it. Moments later told us it was because a VIP came in and essentially that was more important. That night he gave us just a run of the house room, no real upgrade, but tried to make it sound like it was something special. The next day I did go to Nobu and talked to a manager who was helpful and sympathetic. He did give us what he said was the best available room at Nobu. Not a suite, but a slight upgrade. The rest of the stay was fine, but less impressive hotel than I expected. Probably won’t consider Nobu or Caesar’s again even though we have stayed there many times before this.
