I've stayed at this Hampton Inn numerous times without issue, but my last stay here this past August has left me beyond frustrated. I paid for this hotel for 4 nights, in advance through Hotels.com, and should have required nothing beyond a deposit for incidentals. For some reason when I checked in, the girl at reception said I needed to pay $400. I tried to explain to her that I already paid for the room, but was charged anyways. I thought maybe this double charge would be temporary, but sure enough it showed up on my credit card statement, along with the original $600 charge from hotels.com. So I paid over $1000 for 4 nights, a whopping $250 a night for a hotel in North Brunswick. This is not NYC, and if that's the price they wished to charge me, I would not have booked this hotel. I often used this hotel whenever I needed to stay in the area, I will look elsewhere now if that is how they want to operate their business.
