The online check in is a mess and the kiosks to collect your key are even more of a mess.Tech this bad should be some kind of a crime. A very nice person at check in sorted it out, though. The staff are always great
My room was comfortable if a bit too warm. The extra thick duvet just made things worse. At about 4am, I discovered the electronic control attached to the radiator, which did turn it off. The new mock parquet floors are noisy - you really can’t get rid of carpets in a hotel that wasn’t designed with that level of sound insulation. It’s a big plus that the doors close slowly, though, so there’s no constant banging of doors in the hallway
Breakfast was good and, although crowded, efficient. The sign advertised vegetarian sausages but I and three other people were told that it would take 30 minutes to defrost and cook them. Maybe cook a few in advance? Ordering poached eggs sounded complicated too
The 24 hour coffee stand in reception is an excellent idea
The gym is a bit of a joke for a hotel of this size
The lifts get overburdened and this was made worse when we checked in because one was out of order
