My name is Fallon Alexander, and my family and I (party of 5: myself, my husband, our two
children aged 13 and 5, and my mother) recently stayed at Twelve Downtown, Autograph
Collection, from July 25 to July 27, 2025, in Room 1010.
Unfortunately, our experience fell significantly below the standards expected of a Marriott
Autograph Collection property, and I feel compelled to bring several issues to your attention for
review and resolution.
1. Unexpected Valet-Only Parking Charges
Upon arrival, we discovered that the only viable parking option was a mandatory valet at $40 per
night—something that was not disclosed prior to arrival. We were told street parking was
available but would run $45 nightly due to meter regulations. This lack of transparency set the
tone for the rest of the stay.
2. Unstocked Room & Poor Guest Service
After entering the room, I personally sprayed and wiped down surfaces with Lysol. The
bathroom had no towels or washcloths, and it took over 15 minutes for staff to deliver them after
I called down.
That evening, we discovered the room also lacked basic toiletries like soap. We called again and
were told someone would bring it up. When the staff member arrived, he insisted on entering the
room to physically “swap” the soap—despite the fact that my 13-year-old daughter was already
in the shower. I informed him of this, yet he continued to insist. While this could have been a
policy issue, the tone came off as distrustful and uncomfortable. Eventually, he
