For $82 a night I wasn"t expecting an amazing experience, but was expecting better than what we had. I walked in and was greated with a smell. Not a bad smell per se. More of a mixture of stuffy grandma's house mixed with V05 from the 80s that has sat in a box since the 80s. It permeates everything! The lobby, the halls, and the room. Had it not been for olfactory desensitization I probably wouldn't have been able to handle it. Check in (for me) was ok. Their were 2 gentlemen at the front desk who gave me my keys when I arrived. I noticed another guest had to check in over some weird video Google meet robot thing in the lobby. He seemed to be struggling. When we went to check out, there was nobody at the front desk. I tried using said robot type system and got no response. I left my keys in a bowl and left. Our room was clean, no bugs, and had a cold air conditioner. It had patchy home repair type work done throughout it. Our bedsheets had stains and one of the bedspreads had a hole in it. We needed another towel and were directed to a file cabinet in the lobby to help ourselves to. Breakfast had no hot food except make your own waffles. While the staircase is pretty, THIS HOTEL HAS NO ELEVATOR! Had my family not been exhausted and not been 10 minutes away from the wedding venue we were going to, we would have stayed somewhere else. It is close to some good restaurants and central to everything. Spend a little extra and go somewhere else unless you are ok with the above.
