Upon entering the property we were very impressed with the look of the building, the architecture and the grounds. The check in process was a breeze, the receptionist was very helpful and friendly; however, as soon we entered our building we were met with a strong musty smell, Which lingered the entire time we were there, making us question the cleanliness of the facility. The elevator especially smelled like a deserted 300 year old castle.Entering our room, we were not impressed with the size.
It was very small; however, it was a king size bed and it almost completely used up the free space in the room. Really the room is too small for a king size bed but the bed, bedding and pillows were very comfortable and sufficiently warm. The air conditioning worked very well. So, the room met our needs because we didn’t stay in there very much anyway. The breakfast was fine. The food was warm and tasted good. Typical breakfast fare. Although the bathroom was very small the shower was hot and worked well. Again, the staff was very helpful and responsive if we had a need. However, the phone did not work and we were informed the line was bad, which wasn’t really a problem because we used our cellphone to call the front desk. Also, the deadbolt did not work on the door and the window was cracked but not broken; regardless, we did feel safe. We felt like we got what we paid for. A reasonable price for a reasonable room. If you just need a place to sleep at night this is the room for you.
