The bathroom was a major disappointment
While the hotel itself is beautiful, with friendly and helpful staff and a stunning location, the bathroom was a major disappointment that significantly affected our stay.
Almost everything in the bathroom was broken. Both the sink and tub faucets were nearly useless. The sink handles twisted almost 360 degrees, making it difficult to turn off without finding the "sweet spot." The bathtub/shower faucet was even worse—it was nearly impossible to adjust to a comfortable temperature. Turning the knob cycled through the cold water, then a dead zone where the water shut off completely, before returning with scalding hot water.
The drain plug was also broken, forcing us to completely unscrew it just to empty the tub when the kids took a bath.
The toilet was another issue—it ran endlessly after flushing unless the handle was jiggled *just right*.
On top of that, water damage was visible throughout the bathroom, even inside the frame and the glass of the artwork above the toilet.
Beyond the bathroom, the hotel’s cleanliness was a bit questionable beyond the main entrance. After walking barefoot from the pool to our room just once, the bottoms of our feet were black.
I have never been more disappointed in a hotel stay than this one. We were excited for our visit to Lakeway Resort and paid more for this hotel than any other stop on our family vacation—yet the two more affordable hotels we stayed at had far superior bathrooms that were on par with the luxury we expected.
