La Quinta is always inconsistent with quality.
La Quinta is definitely a "hit or miss" chain. In this case it was a for sure "miss"!
On the phone. the receptionist was aimable & was the same man who picked us up. As we walked in, a giant roach kept running between the dining area and front desk. Mark (not sure he gave his real name) the clerk was RUDE. This was a BUSINESS trip booked & paid in full with my boss' card so we hesitated to have a "hold" on our personal card but he wouldn't let us check in until we did, & with a smirk he loudly said: "S0 YOU DO HAVE A CARD!". We replied: It's our personal card. Don't put charges on it when we check out. He loudly replied:" DON'T TRASH THE ROOM AND YOU WON'T HAVE TO WORRY!" We were in nice business attire. His unwarranted comment, coming from his own unclean appearance ( very long, dirty nails painted black, greasy hair, crumpled attire) was EXTREMELY RUDE. Also, when asked for change to tip our nice driver, he said we go to Denny's across the street. SMH. It was late, we were quite tired, otherwise, we would have turned around and left the hotel. "Mark" sure is in need of proper customer service training or a change of jobs.
The male driver who picked us up at night at the airport and the sweet lady who drove us back early the next morning were VERY KIND! Room was clean but old and in need of repairs. It did have a microwave & a mini-fridge.
Avoid breakfast!!! The rubbery "eggs" tasted artificial. The "juice" was watered down and very sugary.
