Don’t get me wrong - the hotel was central. The room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The sauna was amazing. The only issue that tainted our experience was the hotel’s extreme inflexibility. I booked an extra room by accident but the penalty to fix the error right after was the entire cost of one night. Fine I ate the cost. We requested to upgrade the room to a larger room to accommodate another joiner. We weren’t even cancelling but we would have been subject to a penalty fee amounting to the entire cost of the reservation, which in my opinion is outrageous. In addition, if we wanted to upgrade paying the difference minus the extra night booked in error, they said the upgrade must include the extra night. I understand a small penalty fee for a change but this left a bad taste in my mouth. I travel often and I have never seen such terrible customer service in my life. I don’t know if it is laziness or greed but you need to take this into account if you consider booking this hotel. At least pay extra for refundable option even though it was a bit much. Had I know this would’ve been such a massive issue, I would’ve chose another accommodation or at least paid extra to avoid the stress and headache.
