We had a long layover at the Port of Spain (Trinidad) airport and decided to book the Runway Hotel near the airport.
The most attractive point was the hotel provides a free shuttle from the airport.
This was the first fraud of management. We tried to call the hotel from airport, but nobody replied.
We had to take a taxi. The hotel management explained that there was an error on the EXPEDIA website and the hotel does not provide this service.
The second fraud was the check-in time.
On EXPEDIA website check in is at 14.00. The actual check in time is 15.00. If you want to check in earlier, you have to pay $10 per hour. Despite the fact that vacant rooms are available.
The biggest disappointment was in the evening. Upon check-in, we signed a paper with the hotel rules and policies. One of these rules was that quiet hours begin at 9.00 p.m. The loud noise, loud music or loud voices are not permitted. The loud music from the restaurant started from 6.00 p.m. until midnight.
According to the hotel policies, we asked to turn the music off. The administrator told us that these rules do not apply to the restaurant, although it is located 20 meters from the lobby and named "Runway". He advised us to leave the hotel in the middle of the night if we were not satisfied the hotel. In this case, we would get a refund. Our room was on the third floor, but the music was so loud that even earplugs didn't help.
