Unpleasant Stay Despite Friendly Staff
I booked the hotel online through Hotels.com for a trip to Toronto with four people. Since we knew the city well, we chose this hotel for its proximity to the center. We traveled from the airport to the hotel by Uber, paying a total of 38 CAD. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were very friendly. Our stay included bed and breakfast.
We arrived at the hotel in the evening, and upon settling into the room, we noticed a very strong odor. We spoke with the reception and changed rooms. However, the new room had a similar, very unpleasant smell, which I can describe as the smell of wet carpet or socks. Unfortunately, we had to continue our stay since we couldn’t change the hotel.
Another point is that the air conditioning was a wall unit and made an incredible amount of noise, so we had to unplug it. Since it was the summer period, we occasionally had to plug it back in to cool the room, making the air conditioning and the room odor a nightmare.
The breakfast service was the most inadequate I have ever experienced with incredibly limited options. I think it would be more reasonable to have breakfast outside the hotel.
In conclusion, this is not a hotel I would choose for my next stay. The management needs to address the issues, that i mentioned. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel is close to the city center.
