The building location is amazing across from the beautiful Plaza San Martin. Centrally located and accessible to subway, buses, retiro shops, Plaza De Mayo, a ton of different great places you want to visit while in BA. When you walk into the lobby it's underwhelming, it could use a facelift and not typical of what you expect of a 5 star hotel. Check in was a bit slow as only one person was behind the desk so we waited for about 10 minutes to get to check in after our 12 hour flight. Once we got checked in the hops take your bags up to your room which is very nice. Our room overlooked the park and had high vaulted ceilings, plush bed, working central air and nice double sink bathroom with bidet. Once I figured out how to use the bidet, loved it. In America we don't use bidets, but it's quite refreshing.
What I love about this hotel is the history, the warmth you feel and how homey it is. You feel like you are at home and the service is very good. I recommend the restaurant and room service too. They have a great champagne called Mia Brut Pinot Noir Rose that is a definite must. The fiambres platter is a serious go to for a pre-dinner appetizer or even for dinner itself if you don't want to leave the room.
We went to Mendoza and came back to stay for the remainder of our trip here in a junior suite, just lovely and a beautfiul way to end our trip. I will likely stay here again if I ever go back to BA.
