An Elegant Stay with Room for Improvement
Centara Grand Resort & Villas Hua Hin embodies the elegance of a 5-star property. The staff greets you with warm Thai hospitality and ensures every request is handled with care, creating a genuine five-star experience.
The hotel’s old Thai charm, traditional architecture, and lush gardens offer a tranquil oasis. The grounds are impeccably maintained, though some areas, like tiles and walkways, show their age. The resort is vast, requiring plenty of walking, but this adds to its grandeur. The multiple pools and exclusive club benefits, including a quieter breakfast lounge and evening cocktails, elevate the experience.
Unfortunately, the villas were disappointing. My first beachfront villa had greasy windows and a persistent kitchen smell. The staff offered me another villa or a duplex suite, and I opted for the villa due to its outdoor rain shower and bathtub. However, the patio felt uninviting with uncomfortable chairs, and the stark white interior amplified stains and lacked coziness.
The spa impressed with its ambiance and skilled therapists but was inconsistent. My first massage felt rushed, and the second was cut short by 10 minutes. While the staff compensated me, the procedures lacked refinement.
Overall, the service and grounds are outstanding, but the lack of coziness in the villas and spa frictions detracted from the experience. Despite its charm, I likely wouldn’t return due to these issues and the hotel’s vast scale, which felt less personal.
