The first room we had was in the 4000 building on the upper level, and the bathroom floor filled with water everytime we took a shower. Maintenance came three times in 2 days, but we could not deal with the sewage smell everytime we entered the room. After telling the receptionist we didn't want maintenance again she moved us to the 3000 building. The room was considered an "upgraded room," but it looked exactly like our previous room, just without the leaks and smell.
All of the restaurants served the same breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner every single day. The food tasted okay, but were tired of eating the same stuff day in and day out.
The lobby bathroom often had huge waterbugs/roaches running around and flying.
The staff and entertainment was enjoyable, but what we liked most about the hotel was the free shuttle that took us to the "big square" and back.
Overall, I've stayed at much better Riu hotels. This one thus far is my least favorite.
Oh... Bring your own bottle of alcohol, because everything except the wine snd beer are watered down.
