Oliver Inn was a fantastic way to get to know Duluth. Very convenient for the canal and bridge, shopping, restaurants, walking and sightseeing.
It may not be for everyone, however. It is a historic building, whose rooms have PERSONALITY galore. We stayed in the Dorothy Arnold room (12) with 4 poster bed, high ceilings, wood floors, loveseat, bathroom en suite. You enter the building through a Japanese restaurant, then climb the stairs or take the elevator to the next floor where you are instantly transported to the early 1900's.
Comfortable and relaxing place if you enjoy that sort of thing, which we do. It has the mod-cons you expect in a nice comfortable room, but they are meant to blend into the time period.
