The opposite of relaxing

Hats off to everyone working at the front desk. They were awesome. The room was clean, but everything about this hotel was worn out. You are greeted with stained, torn worn out carpet on stairs that feel like loose plywood. Another greeting would be the every kind of smoke smell coming from the hallways that lead to the exits. There were ants in my bathroom but otherwise clean and shower was nice. The metal bed frame was weird as heck so if you hit it with your foot or moved to get off the bed it sounded like you hit an empty metal oil drum. And let's not forget the guests partying in the hallways, and the belligerent guest who couldn't figure out his key card so he proceeded to cuss out everything and everyone who could hear. Then let his dog run loose down the hallway while he screamed at it.

The parking was good. The hotel looks very nice from the outside. We were in a handicap room that we did not ask for. And due to the shower being used there was water damage on the floor so there was a big black rub put over the damaged area. When we stepped on it you could hear the noise from it. We're not happy about that. The beds are very small. Uncomfortable. We were on the first floor. Could hear the neighbors a lot. We were there for two nights. Me probably would not stay again.

Tips For Other Hotels And Motels From A Traveler

My stay at Microtel Inn by Windham was superb and what in particular made it great was the breakfast that was served every day. Other hotels and motels should take some tips from Wyndham.

When we checked in conditioner in our room was set and worked on 62 Fahrenheits. Corridor had smell of marijuana. Our bed was so hard that we might as well better off sleep on the wooden surface. In the parking lot of that hotel,we got bit by insect. I’m not sure was that red ants or something else it was itching for next 4-5 days. Palmetto bugs trying to get into our car as a souvenir as we were leaving. Just add $10-15 more and go somewhere else. I would not recommend this hotel and I usually don’t leave bad reviews.

Spots on mattress, dead bugs on side of night stand. Carpet has stains everywhere & dirty. Room smells, base boarda damaged, spider webs hanging over head of bed. Was waiting to see if i had bug bites when i woke. But thank God, the bed was bedbug free! Because we drove all day, into the night, we was to tired to complain or move to another hotel. These hotels need to stop charging these high fees & they know the rooms are not up to satisfaction! Disgusted!

Not as expected

Not as expected, looks much better in pictures. First room we were given smelled awful, after further inspection of the closet we found black mold going up the wall. Asked for a different room. Still a small amount of mold noticed inside the closet. Even with the AC running room felt very muggy, so much as our sheets felt damp when lying in bed. For ten dollars more I would have just went over to the tru Hilton hotel nearby.

I booked through Expedia. I booked insurance in case of cancellation. I only stayed 1 of the 3 nights I reserved. I left well before 10am in the morning the following day. The concierge tells me to reach out to Expedia for the refund. Then Expedia reaches out to Microtel to get them to release the funds. Then they decided to tell Expedia they’re only refunding me 1 night! Let’s not mention how there was a random man following me to my room. Come to find out that man was stalking other women on the property as well! Do NOT stay here. Also, the breakfast is trash, the beds are thin and springy. No comfort. There’s LOTs of guests with dogs as well. No elevator and the stairs have a strong piss smell.

We actually stayed twice this trip. We stayed on Sunday June 22 on our way to our destination and on Thursday June 26 on our return trip to home. Just an overnight sleep and go. I thought the facility was pretty good for the price. However, I’ve stayed in numerous Microtel Facilities over the years and was rather let down by the condition of the facility. It needs a lot of attention. Looks worn. I do think it’s rated higher in Expedia than the facility deserves. That is nothing against the staff members I dealt with, they were nice. First night we were put up stairs. Be aware “no Elevator” we had to drag our suit cases up stairs. We checked in about 9pm and the A/c had not been turned on. Room was hot and took a little while to cool off so we could sleep. On our stop back through, we asked them to put us on the bottom floor if possible and start the A/C before we got there. We checked in about 8pm. They did on both accounts and it helped a lot. We had pre-paid for both stays or honestly, we may have not been back for the second night. Again it appeared clean. Facility is real need of updates. Floor covering, whether tile or carpet needs replacing. Walls need updating. Closet areas are after thought build ins, that could use updated and better quality workmanship. The first room A/c was extremely noisy. The breakfast looked pretty weak. We went to Cracker Barrel next door. Again, staff was nice and place appeared clean. It needs a lot of attention. Not norm for Microtel.
