Really lovely Riad in the medina old town. A driver picked us up at the train station that we had arranged as extra who was really helpful. Staff at the Riad were also really helpful and it felt safe inside. However, for us being in the heart of Fez, as soon as we went outside, were hassled a lot by locals to help guide us (which of course is their way of trying to get you to pay) - so if you are prepared for that, and the staff at the Riad also warn about this, and not to get too deep into the market alone, that’s fine. But if you are worried about having to ignore people who claim to want to help you in the streets, definitely take a guide who will help look after you. Unfortunately we didn’t have long to investigate the rest of Fez apart from this area as we only stayed one night. So mixed feelings about Fez itself, and am sure there are many other wonderful parts to discover, and the Riad was wonderful - if you tell them in the morning that you want to eat there, they will cook for you, which we would have done if we had known as the breakfast the next morning was amazing.
