This hotel is even better in person! The service was outstanding, the hotel is absolutely beautiful and the rooms are really comfy & well decorated. The breakfast area is stunning with animal art/paintings all over, wonderful music playing and the food was delicious and varied. They even made “sagu” for us and this wasn’t even on their menu. 10 out of 10!

Fantastic old-world elegance
We love these kinds of old-fashioned, elegant hotels - hotel & room were in excellent condition, staff was very friendly, king bed was super comfy, excellent dinner in the Leopoldina restaurant - even though nearly empty, we enjoyed dinner very much. Beautiful dining room for breakfast. Good value for the price - not cheap, but worth it. We had a "suite" which isn't a suite at all - just the biggest rooms they have. Other reviews mention that the ground floor rooms are damp & dark - I didn't look in any, but could imagine that. Rooms upstairs don't cost a lot more - it's worth it I think. There seemed a number of negative reviews on websites and my expectations were a bit low - I was pleasantly surprised at how great I thought the hotel was.
