We enjoyed our stay at the XL Apartment-generous space, comfortable bed, good wifi, lots of hot water (although water temp fluctuates a lot), well equipped kitchen incl dishwasher.Brera’s business model is “No front desk, automation is key”. Comprehensive instructions to guests & high level communication between staff members are essential for this to work.We had a number of issues on the Sunday we arrived eg 1 towel for 2 people.A chatbot advised we would have to wait until Monday for assistance. We then used a WhatsApp number provided in one of many automated emails received prior to check in (one email containing all instructions would be preferable; a document in the apartment spelling out housekeeping issues would have been even better). Our check in issues and subsequent problems were managed in a professional way so maybe these are new hotel teething problems.
Apartment 214 fronted suffered from traffic noise if the glass doors were open. Closed doors solved it. There is no aircon so it is a pity we were not told about the external, automated louvres which can be used to cover the glass area when it is hot. I suggest others ask for louvre instructions. There is a well stocked REWE supermarket 5 minutes drive away and 3 bakeries in walking distance. Street parking was more limited than we expected with most limited to 1–3 hrs in the day. All day, free parking is available on streets beyond the town limits but you need to be prepared to walk for 10 minutes or so.
