Meals were amazing multi-course affairs with excellently prepared and well presented courses. I would definitely recommend KUON to my friends or stay there again when next in Hakone.

We really loved this place with incredible people. Breakfast and dinner included and wow, what a surprise with the omakase style service. The room had hot spring water onsen bath. Highly recommended.

Whoa. This was a real treat. Can't recommend this property enough. Room was incredible and the place is pristine. Views were great. Felt relaxed and welcomed as a guest. The experience was unique and unforgettable.

Beautiful boutique hotel, with tea ceremonies and an amazing dinner experience. The staff were very accomodating with my partners gluten allergy. Highly recommend!

Had a really good stay here. The staff especially were super kind and welcoming. They made my stay the best part of the hotel. Food was good as well. A lot of fragrant dishes and prepared pretty uniformly too.

お部屋は清潔感がありインテリアが素敵で、スタッフの方も皆さん丁寧で気持ちの良い宿泊ができました。 1番驚いたのは食事です。 見た目が綺麗で、旬の食材を楽しめてとても美味しかったです。 ペアリングはお茶のカクテルとワインをいただきました。 強羅駅のタクシー乗り場や、ホテルの周りはタクシーが捕まらないのでGOとUberアプリを利用しました。

Our stay at Kuon was elegant and luxurious. The second you walk onto the property, serenity will hit you immediately. From the tea ceremony to the elaborate 10-course dinner to the in-room onsen, this hotel pulls out all the stops. Our biggest highlight was the staff who made sure our needs were met and more. They accommodated our dietary restrictions and curated one of our most special meals on our entire trip. 10/10 would recommend!

Loved the amazing hospitality we received from all the staff members. The place is clean and quiet, matching its ambiance. The food (both breakfast and dinner), tea ceremony and drinks were incredible and an absolute culinary experience. The onsen in the room was perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better stay. An absolute hidden gem but definitely not going to be hidden for much longer. Looking forward to seeing this hotel flourish.

The concept and aesthetic is beautiful. However, breakfast and dinner which are included are very difficult, the hotel is in the boondocks with little or no transportation available, they barely speak English, so it feels like you’re stuck in a castle/jail. There’s also a construction going on across the street. My suggestion is have a car rental and specify you want western style meals, otherwise it’ll be a total waste. Our second morning after we had complained, breakfast was catered to us and was much better. They try to please, I wish we would’ve known in advance.

This small hotel is an incredibly peaceful oasis. The food offerings were absolutely impeccable! There are no gym facilities but the private onsen is a wonderful way to end your day after touring the surroundings of Hakone. The care and attention from the staff was top notch! Our tea ceremony shortly after arriving was a wonderful way to get introduced to the hotel and the types of tea and wagashi available to us during our stay. Dinner was a different 10 course meal of fine dining every night with the dishes prepared by the staff on the island directly in front of your seating. Drink (alcoholic or not) pairings are given for about 1/2 the dishes too! An open bar after your meal is also a nice way to wind down before bedtime, with locally drinks mixed for you by the bartender. The only drawback to this hotel was that its location leaves you dependent on taking a local bus or finding a local taxi. Taxi service is very inconsistent as there are simply not enough drivers in the area relative to the demand for taxis, especially when it rains! That’s an issue for all hotels in the region. The hotel is about 0.5km away from the bus stop but it’s downhill or uphill depending on which way you are going. It’s only a few hundred meters further to walk directly to the ropeway to start your loop around the key visitor spots in the area.

This is a gorgeous property in Hakone, slightly further away than many hotels in the area but we found it after a short walk from Sounzan Station. The front door is quite concealed, but once we got inside staff were very attentive and got us checked in and showed us to our room. The room itself was gorgeous - modern with authentic Japanese touches, very spacious and light and an inviting private onsen outside. Staff provided tea and sweets upon our arrival as we unfortunately missed the tea ceremony during the day, and we appreciated this gesture. The room is also all-inclusive so tea, sweets, minibar, dinner and breakfast were all covered. From our experience with the staff, it felt like we were the only people in the property. We saw no other guests, and staff were very available to us. This was a great level of service, but it did mean that we felt during our time at the bar and dinner that we didn’t have as much privacy as you might hope. Dinner is a 10-course tasting menu of French-Japanese cuisine, and we were excited to experience such a nice meal on our trip. We were the only people at dinner, and the full meal lasted only 50 minutes. This led to courses feeling rushed, and left no time to savour the courses or the pairing drinks as we had to quickly move on. For a luxury experience, I would’ve hoped for better pacing and more time to enjoy. Overall a beautiful property and a great reset in nature, but small tweaks could make the experience truly 5 stars.

O Hotel tem um projeto lindo , mas com algumas falhas ao meu ver Travesseiros não eram bons o uforo transbordou. Fica longe de tudo e a cidade em sim tem muita dificuldade com transporte táxi e uber Os funcionários são bonzinhos mas não resolvem tds as questões , tipo temos pedir uber ou táxi por 3 horas e ficamos presos no hotel
