1) the hotel is clean and offers a good budget option for where it is. 2) the beds in our room were a bit too hard so we could not extend our stay because of it. 3) breakfast was included and was convenient to have. 4) no hooks or racks for clothing in the room so things are left on the floor. No hooks for towels either, so they end up being in a pile on the floor 5) Despite a “do not disturb” sign left, cleaning staff come in into the room.

This hotel left a very good impression on me. Its warm service and clean accommodation environment were reassuring. Most importantly, its location is extremely convenient. It allows easy access to Yongqingfang to experience the traditional Xiguan culture, and you can also explore Shangxiajiu anytime to sample authentic local delicacies. It is indeed an excellent accommodation choice.

A great choice for both value and comfort — I highly recommend this hotel for its excellent cost-performance! Its location is unbeatable, close to Hualin Temple Metro Station, making it super convenient to get to attractions like the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, Yongqing Fang, and Beijing Road. The hotel facilities are quite new and include a laundry room and a fitness center. The rooms are clean, bright, and the beds are very comfortable. The staff are friendly and responsive. Whether you’re traveling for leisure or business, this place meets all your needs perfectly.

The location is absolutely prime — it's right in the heart of Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street! Just step out, turn right, and walk straight to Yongqing Fang and the flagship Tao Tao Ju restaurant. You get the best of both worlds: the local vibe and the artsy charm of old Guangzhou. For travelers, saving time and energy is the ultimate win.

The viewing terrace on the tenth floor was such a pleasant surprise! Going up in the evening offers a breathtaking view — you can watch the lively traffic along the historic Shangxiajiu streets below while gazing out toward the distant city skyline. The scene is especially beautiful as the city lights begin to glow, making it a perfect spot to capture the charm of old Guangzhou. Best of all, it’s complimentary for guests — absolutely unbeatable value!

Staying at this hotel feels like stepping into the old Xiguan. Antique Manchu-style stained-glass windows and vintage decor unfold slowly before your eyes. From the "Stargazing Terrace" on the ninth floor, you can lean on the railing and gaze out—below, the glittering lights of Shangxiajiu stretch into the distance, while the distant evening drum and morning bell of Hualin Temple echo through the air. In that moment, the past and present of Xiguan suddenly make sense.

藏在廣州舊城區巷弄裏的迷你精品酒店。裝修很有文青風格，公共空間挂滿了記錄舊廣州的歷史照片，像個小型博物館。環境乾净，清潔員儘職有禮。大堂有免費水吧。早餐有現包現煮的餛飩麵，很有誠意。唯一美中不足的是，由於結構佈局所限，浴室做不到乾濕分離，不過也不太差，而且酒店的官方照片也顯示出來，并沒有刻意隱瞞或誤導。縂括而言，這是一家小小的，舒適的，性價比高的小酒店。

Fantastic location with lots of shops and eateries just outside of hotel. Hotel staff is very helpful but hotel itself is very basic. The shower has no door/ curtain and is with the toilet inside the bathroom. So the toilet gets wet after a shower. Wash basin is outside of bathroom. They provide only shampoo and shower gel, there is no conditioner. There is no phone, fridge or TV in the room. If you need to phone someone in Guangzhou, you can ask front desk to call for you. There is a self-serve laundry room on 2nd floor with a modern standing steam iron there. You can check status of the washers and dryers from the comfort of your room.

Cheap stay in an only OK area. It’s a shopping street but all the shops appear to sell the same stuff and it’s very generic. Far from the nearest train stations and taxis cannot take you to the door, they have to drop you off 600-800m away. Breakfast was very basic but free, service was excellent. Overall good for the money.

My recent stay at the Starry Sky Observatory Inn in Guangzhou was an absolutely magical experience from start to finish. This charming boutique inn offered the perfect escape from the city noise while remaining conveniently close to the main attractions. The undeniable highlight was the breathtaking stargazing terrace on the rooftop, which, complete with telescopes and cozy seating, provided a stunning evening retreat even amidst the city's glow. My room was both stylish and incredibly comfortable, featuring modern amenities, soft lighting, and a very comfortable bed that guaranteed a great night's sleep. The staff truly made the stay exceptional with their friendly and attentive service, always ready with excellent local recommendations for food and sightseeing. Its location was ideal, situated in a peaceful neighborhood yet just steps away from cafes, shops, and public transportation, offering the best of both worlds. Each morning began with a delicious and fresh breakfast that perfectly fueled a day of exploration. Overall, the inn delivers a unique and wonderful experience that standard hotels can't match, and I can't wait to return—I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Guangzhou.

My one night at this Guangzhou hotel was absolutely fantastic! The Lingnan theme was so charming—carved wooden details and traditional decorations made it feel authentic yet cozy. The staff were friendly, offering hot Chinese tea on check-in and free coffee later—such nice touches! The 10th-floor observation deck was the highlight. Afternoon views of the busy pedestrian street were great, and the night view with twinkling lights and cool breeze was even better. One night was too short, but this stay made my Guangzhou trip unforgettable!

I stayed at Stargazing Platform Inn recently, and it totally exceeded my expectations. The second I arrived, the staff were warm—we used a translation app to get past the language gap, but they still helped with everything I needed. I’ve stayed in bigger hotels elsewhere, but none felt this nice. The room was spacious, spotless, and cozy—great bed, and they cleaned it daily. Breakfast was solid too，also provides black coffee. They recommended local spots, helped with transport, and the front desk team was awesome! 💛 The location’s perfect—close to shops/restaurants but quiet for sleep. The rooftop at night was a highlight, and they even brought me hot tea up there every day. Overall, 100% recommend for anyone in Guangzhou. It’s well-run with top-notch service, and I’ll definitely be back!"

*5/5 Stars* "I had the pleasure of staying at stargazing platform inn and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm and welcoming, eager to help with anything I needed even if they don’t speak English but we managed with translation app. I have been to several countries with much bigger hotels but never had this much great experience. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, with a comfortable bed and all the amenities I required and they were cleaned everyday .Breakfast was great I enjoyed a lot it was perfect. But need to add black coffee, regardless there is Late coffee available. But what truly made my stay stand out was the exceptional service. The staff were friendly, efficient, and went above and beyond to ensure I had a wonderful stay. From recommending local attractions to arranging transportation, they were always happy to help. I will like send a big thank for the front desk guys. You guys amazing.💚💚💚💚 The hotel's location was also perfect, close to local restaurants and shops, yet quiet enough to ensure a restful night's sleep. There is a big whole sale market for clothes shopping. The rooftop was amazing especially at night. They will even provide tea while your stay. Overall, I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-run hotel with excellent service. I'll definitely be back!"

Compact comfort in a good location

The location is extremely convenient, situated on one of the most well-known streets in the city. It’s close to the French neighbourhood, and the tube station isn’t too far away. The room is tiny, just as shown in the pictures. If you don’t speak Mandarin or have access to Chinese streaming services, the projector won’t be of much use. They have a very convenient laundromat that’s free of charge, and it’s usually not too difficult to find a machine available. The gym is as small as the rooms, but hardly anyone uses it, likely because there’s no air conditioning. Breakfast is the same every day: fried rice, noodles, eggs, chips, some fruit, and so on. Complimentary toiletries and two bottles of water per day were provided.

Convenient location with good amenities, but room cleanliness and smoking policy need improvement The hotel has a convenient location and offers a good breakfast, along with a nice bar on the property. However, the overall experience could be better with cleaner and more well-maintained rooms and bathrooms. One major issue was the lack of enforcement of the no-smoking policy. I was woken up by cigarette smoke coming from someone smoking outside my room on the second floor, which was very unpleasant. It would be helpful if smoking were strictly prohibited in public areas and near guest rooms to ensure a more comfortable stay for all guests.

Incredible service from check-in to check-out. All the staff were incredibly attentive, which made our stay very enjoyable. Special bonus for the iced lemon tea service on the rooftop and the thoughtful assistance all the way to our taxi at departure. Don’t hesitate — go with your eyes closed!
