Beware of Scam Tours Sold by office at the beach
The review I am giving is primarily due to the people running the tour office near the beach at the hotel. My understanding is that the hotel is responsible for the vendors it allows to sell tours to its guests. The tour office located within the hotel sold us a glass-bottom boat tour, and the salesperson, Mario Santana, promised we would see dolphins, take pictures with them, view starfish, and enjoy drinks and snacks. He assured us we would be on a nice boat where we could see underwater through the glass.
After charging us $180, they took us to the beach and rented a small, unsafe, and old boat with a dirty, unclear glass bottom. We didn’t see any dolphins, starfish, or anything else as promised. Additionally, no drinks or snacks were provided. This was a complete scam, and they refused to take any responsibility for it.
Do not trust Mario Santana or this tour office. The hotel should hold them accountable for deceiving its guests.
