4/10 Poor

We booked a suite for the
Harry, 1-night trip

4/10 Poor

The location and facilities were good, however the bathrooms are dated, it’s very noisy with doors slamming all night, and we had security warning guests in the middle of the night they would be “chucked out” all in a very poor nights sleep
Matthew, 1-night trip

4/10 Poor

Thought the rooms were shabby desk in room was all scratched and bathroom floor could have been cleaner
Debbie, 2-night trip

10/10 Excellent

The service from the minute I arrived was most welcoming and to a high standard. I was a solo guest and the brilliant reception staff provided me with all the key information I needed to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable and this really put my mind at rest. Cameron at Barney’s really looked after me and enabled me to order food and take it back to my room so not have to endure dining on my own. Indi and Jack also looked after me and gave me excellent service and went above and beyond to help me when I was informed at short notice on the day that Barney’s was closed for a private function. I genuinely had the best stay and would recommend to everyone. Thank you for giving me the best break.
Rebecca, 2-night trip

8/10 Good

Great place to stay. The Champneys resort is enormous and the only downside was the view out of the window looking at a brick wall.
Rana, 2-night trip

4/10 Poor

Rooms are very old fashioned and dated. The window in our room was broken and therefore didn’t shut which meant be we were woken multiple times with people outside. Lovely place but very expensive for what you get
Becky, 1-night trip

8/10 Good

Staff were very helpful
Natalie, 1-night trip

6/10 Okay

The room was okay, hotel is in a lovely place. My room wasn’t ready for check in and I was part of a wedding so haven’t to come back wasn’t ideal, my room wasn’t entirely clean, there were dirty tissues under the sink cabinet and there were missing batteries in the remotes in my room. The dishes and glasses at breakfast were also dirty.
Jacob, 1-night trip

10/10 Excellent

The staff was well-trained. Response for every request was immediate.
Lucille, 4-night trip

Perfect stay

Rooms were lovely, beautiful location and staff were great - perfect for what we went for. Spa was also lovely and very relaxing. Breakfast was also really nice and good for the price
Lauren, 1-night trip

4/10 Poor

No lockers available in the spa, over populated it felt like sardines in a can.
Jordan, 1-night trip

4/10 Poor

Spa was great but our room was more like a motel room then an expensive hotel. Restaurant staff not friendly and everything was over priced
Andreea, 1-night trip

6/10 Okay

Lovely grounds! The room was difficult to find and needed a little TLC but overall did the job.
Kelly, 1-night trip

Spa break

Friendly staff nice food in Barney’s pool and spa facilities excellent will definitely return
Alice, 1-night trip

6/10 Okay

Had a lovely stay for special family wedding. Beautiful setting and lovely old Hall. If I had booked a standard room I would have been very happy as comfortable bed, coffee and biscuits in room but I booked a Superior room and had a view of a high brick wall and air conditioning units plus rusty side of bath and cracked tiles. Staff were great but one poor girl rushed off her feet in Breakfast room so guests had to clear tables to sit down and hunt for cutlery. Despite this we had a lovely stay and it was clean and comfortable, just a little pricey.
View from room, sealed window.

8/10 Good

Really lovely stay. The bedroom was large & a huge bed! Very clean, modern but classic also the added air conditioning was welcomed in the June temperatures. We added breakfast and it was yummy. Only negative from us, was the bathroom had a very strong smell of bleach. We washed down the shower area but the smell remained, even more so when we closed the door. Overall we had a great stay. Thank you
Karen, 1-night trip

8/10 Good

Modernised rooms, great spa and golf facilities. Plenty of space. Room servicing required attention. We stayed 3 nights and the room wasn’t serviced on any day noting we paid the same for each day we expected the room to look and feel clean each day. Dirty Coffee cups and glasses were left and whilst towels were replaced once (which was fine) the servicing lacked attention to detail.
Andy, 1-night trip

10/10 Excellent

Was fantastic
Natalie, 1-night trip

6/10 Okay

Staff took a while serving drinks Not much selections for breakfast this morning very poor breakfast
Becky, 2-night trip

4/10 Poor

Paid for a family room for 2 nights (2 adults, 2 children) when we arrived there were no family rooms left. We were offered 2 double rooms which meant splitting the family into 2. One of the room had empty alcohol bottles dotted around the room and behind the tv. Evidently the room hadnt been cleaned very well. My husband couldnt eat the breakfast as all the hot food were cold. We were woke at 2am to a guest shouting and screaming which in turn woke our children up. Considering the cost we paid for 2 nights the whole situation was unacceptable. The staff did try given the situation which we were greatful for. Will absolutely not be returning.
Amy, 2-night trip

6/10 Okay

Hotel is very difficult to contact before arrival via telephone also the rooms are very old and tired
Jonathan, 1-night trip

4/10 Poor

Cleaning in the room was not great. We arrived to a dressing table covered in biscuit crumbs. After using coffee cups and rinsing in the bathroom, we found them back next to the kettle tray, but dirty with dried coffee stains in the bottom. The hotel itself is ok, it’s an old building so will have the quirks that go with that, however maintenance could be better, we have a couple of lamps with no bulbs, struggled to open and close the window. The Spa was very good, food was good. But I’d not be in a rush to return. Staff were hit and miss, some were wonderful and some really didn’t want to be there.
michael, 2-night trip

6/10 Okay

Room was tired and needs up grading but clean. Breakfast was disappointing for the money paid. The hot food was look warm, no choice of types of eggs. No hash browns, black pudding. Coffee was cold. The girl in the breakfast room was not interested in her job. I had to ask for cutlery, cups, tea and coffee. I had to go to the breakfast cereal are to get milk for coffee. She was not welcoming at all!!! I had a much better breakfast in the Premier inn for a lot less in price.
Caroline, 1-night trip

2/10 Terrible

A very run down hotel. Rooms are dated, no air con, dirty, bathrooms terrible. Pool access is not included, have to pay £15 per person. Spa is run down and half the things are broken. Checkin was rushed, room was filthy with cobwebs, dirty floor not hoovered, drink spilled over the walls. Staff didnt really care. Bed was horrible. Make sure you dont stay if a wedding is on as will be npise until 1am at least. Very poor hotel
Rehan, 1-night trip

2/10 Terrible

X3 fans next to my room going all night. Must be a staff exit at the back of the room as you can hear them chatting there a lot (it’s itself fine but the noise carries). Walls paper thin could hear another family until 2am in the morning. Worn and shabby bathrooms, carpets, random batteries on the floor. The whole building needs upgrading it’s obviously past its day.
Alexandra, 1-night trip
