When I chose to stay at this hotel, I was aware that it was a historic property. However, the level of dirt in the bathtub and on the carpet exceeded my expectations. I was too exhausted to complain when I checked in. Next day, I decided to move to the Hyatt. By the way, when I checked out, I mentioned the bathroom issue to the front desk, and their response was simply, "This is an old hotel."
As if being an old hotel means cleanliness should be overlooked. I’ve previously stayed at the Menger Hotel across the street, which is also an old hotel, but it was much cleaner.
Besides the cleanliness issues, there was construction nearby that started about 7 a.m., creating a lot of noise. Overall, this was a disappointing experience.
