Great value and location
Our room was great for a family of 4,a double and 2 singles. Basic shower room but excellent for the price especially given the location. Take a bit of time to explore locally for food etc

The hotel served its purpose but the room had no toilet or shower so should have been at least half the price

Definitely 2 star
Basic facilities in a small room. The bed was tired and needed a new mattress. Hot water I’m the shower but not the sink. An electric heater was provided and was needed as it got cold at night

Goodwood
Location for our trip was good the hotel staff was friendly we were in a room at the top floor accessed by thin steep stairwell The shower/toilet pod had a big step to access and the hot tap in the sink did not work

Budget-friendly!
Ideal location and budget-friendly option. Walls a bit too thin and bed a bit too uncomfortable (although that could be personal preference!)

Mediocre hotel
Pretty mediocre hotel. Arrived at the hotel and greeted by the receptionist who seemed to be sleeping in the office. Bathroom is shared, small and unclean. Bedroom was ok, functional, but needs decoration. Cost was ok.

2/10 Poor

The receptionist was in a tiny room with a hatch window which was shut after I checked in. Given the key with no instructions on night time lock up. Room was supposed to be a double. A joke as double bed was up against the wall under the window so curtains was wedged between bed and wall. Window not possible to shut so drafts. Room was cold with no extra bedding available. I had to put my coat over the bed. Mattress bouncey. There was no wardrobe only a few hangers over the shelf where the kettle was. Bathroom was a tiny box. I am 161cm and 52kg. And found it with hardly any room to manoeuvre and shower curtain right up to the toilet The room door was ill fitting that let in light from hallway. And draughty too. The look didn’t have any security locks. I can’t imagine how two people could be comfortable in there. I wasn’t. No phone available to reception for any emergency

Terrible. Rooms were nothing like advertised in pictures - tiny, basic. Room was not cleaned on second day, but somebody came into room and stole money and bank cards from my sons wallet, and my daughters jewelry. We moved out after staying only one night. Would like a refund.

AVOID this hotel
Dirty, cold, smelly and a health hazard. Just an awful stay. Left after one night and found somewhere else as couldn’t face the second night. Mystery stains on the floor, walls, bed and bathroom. This hotel should not be included for booking.

If you just want to sleep then it's fine. It's a dingy, smelly room in the basement. I'm not sure how the rooms on top are. The service desk person is good.

2/10 Poor

Terrible experience. Check in was easy enough although the reception area was very dirty and had a bed in it, I think the staff sleep there during the night. Upon arrival in my room I struggled to get the door locked and as a single traveler felt uneasy all night that someone would just walk in, found the room to be very dirty, I didn't dare use the shower as I would have come out of it dirtier than I went in. Lots of hairs and mold on the floor and walls, toilet hadn't been cleaned since previous guest with feces marks in the bowl. Bed very squeaky and uncomfortable with springs poking out and only a sheet and a throw on it, I was freezing all night due to drafty window and lack of bedding. Giving up on sleep at 6am due to the uncomfortable bed I decided to leave the hotel and find a early cafe or something to sit in comfortably and even though I struggled to lock the door the previous night, the struggle to unlock my next door the next morning was almost panic inducing, I called reception a number of times to report I was locked in my room but no answer, eventually managed to force the lock open with considerable force and left a note on the reception desk advising this as no one was there. Guests in other rooms could be heard as if they were in my room, very bad nights sleep. Honestly wouldn't come back here if I was paid to, I will pay the extra £50 to stay in a Premier Inn or Travelodge next time.

Awful
I had an awful experience at the Goodwood hotel, and I cannot recommend it to anyone. The room was filthy, with dirty carpets and a strong, unpleasant damp smell. The bathroom was unusable without flooding the floor, as there was no shower curtain provided. To make matters worse, the door was covered in mould, and the plug sockets looked unsafe. No basic amenities were available—no shower gel, and not a single hook or peg to hang clothes since all were broken. The lack of care and maintenance was clear throughout. When I brought up these issues with the reception staff, they were incredibly rude and dismissive, saying, *"It's only two stars, get on with it."* I requested to cancel my second night and receive a refund, but they refused outright. This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, and I have booked hundreds of hotels through Hotels.com.

2/10 Poor

The receptionist was rude and needs to go back hotel management. We were an hour early for check in. Chastised us for not calling ahead. The carpet in the room old and smelly. The en-suite bathroom was so tiny you could not sit on the toilet and close the door. We could not use the shower because the bathroom smelt so bad the odor was unbearable.

4/10 Fair

This hotel was good value, but certainly not as nice as using a premiere inn or similar budget hotel. The location is great, but the fact the toilet and shower was down the hall and down some stairs, made this very unsuitable for the majority of both professional and tourist stays. The staff were really friendly and polite, which is a big positive, but it's obviously and hold house that has been cheaply converted into a hotel. I'd honestly pay a bit more and have a bathroom to myself. It also didn't have any air conditioning, so on a hot day, I think it would be very miserable and the bed was not comfortable. The floorboards were also very creaky, so felt really bad if you had to get up to use the toilet in the night, as the door also made a huge clunk as it closed (you could hear everybody else moving around as well). This is basically hostal style accomodation, just with a private room. 30-40 pounds would make this good value, but at the 80-90 I paid expedia, it just wasn't worth it.
