* Does what it says on the tin!* We booked a Premium King Room at the White Horse, room spacious and immaculate, ensuite clean with toiletries provided, standard teas, coffees also provided etc. The bed was comfortable room spacious. We were in newer ground level block of rooms which are a short walk to the pub. Self service continental breakfast was in the main building. Even though it was classed as continental there was the option to make boiled eggs and a toaster. Food was plentiful and staff, although minimal, were helpful. This was a one-off booking due to its proximity to local train station (10 mins walk away) and was perfect for our stay. There is nothing negative to add, all went smoothly including early check-in. I would have liked to try Sunday lunch as the lack of english breakfast does somewhat take the edge off after a night out. However, we knew what we had booked and the location was perfect for our needs. Would use again if required.

2/10 Poor

I had a terrible experience at the White Horse. The rooms were small, creaky, and I couldn't get a good night's sleep due to the noise. The bathroom was tiny and outdated, with a noisy fan. I was constantly woken up at 2:30 am by the people next door and the loud laughter from the pub downstairs. The shower, sink, and kettle were all noisy, making it impossible to relax. To top it off, there was no shower gel or shampoo provided, and the TV was a tiny 9-inch screen with a malfunctioning sky system. Definitely not worth the money, would not recommend.

Top location, friendly staff & excellent bar meals
Located in a lovely little village and handily placed for Driffield and the coast. Staff super friendly and helpful. Evening meals were decent, I really enjoyed eating here, except the breakfast which was a bit pants to be honest. Rooms were ok for the price paid, think travel lodge standard and you won’t be disappointed. The only irritation was the disco downstairs which went on till midnight, otherwise a lovely stay

6/10 Good

Its beautifully situated on the village green and is popular with locals as a pub and for dining. The latter is not surprising as our evening meals were superb, staff really helpful and we complimented the chef for that. Breakfast, a buffet as advertised on booking, was however unexciting. We had chosen the cheaper rooms and we understand the more expensive 'downstairs' rooms would have been more up-to-date. The immediate surrounds, as a parking lot, detracted from the location in this pleasant village.

Honest, realistic review
Overall, I was pleasantly supposed with the B&B. This is the first time that I've visited the property and I wasn't disappointed. I barely make reviews unless it is dreadful or has surpassed my expectations - I'm a fairly critical when trying out the unknown. My children 14&11 say that Id be a good travel critique!. The decor has clearly been updated and they've had a decent handy man in to do the jobs! The courtyard is a lovely touch with entertainment on certain nights - was a shame we didn't have ant with it being a weekend. The place is set in a safe village with necessities dotted around, has a park, spa, and a lovely walk to a farm shop and train stations to get to the beach - if you dont fancy driving (get tickets online!) Theres plenty of space to park your car, so you can easily hang your keys up and get about on the trains! This is very decent for the price. The breakfast is very basic and could do with a better toaster... a lot of people were waiting because it was quite an unsual one, if you dont work in machincal engineering or dont have common sence then skip breakfast! Breakfast consisted of eggs that you boil yourself with another mechanical contraption, cheese, ham, crumpet, cereal, fruit and yoghurt - would be nice touch if they had pastries with it being continental! Majority of the staff are polite, attentive and friendly - suppose where ever you go you get the odd one thats contemplating on quitting their job and onto next best thing. My daughter commented

Put in disabled room, which was not needed and not advertised. Booked twin, but had emergency chords by beds and disabled shower, nothing wrong with this, but if we had been told beforehand we would have booked elsewhere. Dont bother with breakfast, just toast, cereal and not much of that.

A warm welcome, large comfortable bedroom with a modern shower room. The breakfast is buffet style with good choice of options, the restaurant has a good menu and the portions are very generous. We would definitely stay again.
