I was SO pleased with my recent stay at this property. It originally started as a private residence in 1926, and was transformed to a hotel in the 1970s-- but it has all of those beautiful older property details-- crown moldings, beautiful fixtures, crystal doorknobs. The staff was solicitous at every turn, my upgraded room spacious, clean and quiet. The Breakfasts I had were top notch, wasn't able to visit the on site bar. The location, in the heart of the GWU campus, meant that there were great restaurants and useful stores nearby, and there were Metro entrances in two blocks in either direction. I would associate this kind of beautiful property with super expensive lodgings, but my January stay was very reasonable for metro DC. HIGHLY recommend!!
