Toyoko Inn Tokyo Akiba Asakusabashi-eki Higashi-guchi

The complimentary breakfast was disappointing. I don’t think most foreign guests will want to eat curry and rice for breakfast.

Location was good near MTR station just two mins walk. Room is small but tidy. Service was ok.

In general, everything was perfect to us, a couple of Chinese descent from the United States. At the free breakfasts, we enjoyed our first taste of excellent Japanese rice and fresh vegetables. The coffee was good too. In the meantime, it was our understanding that our friends, who are > 6' and weigh > 250 lbs, might not find this place desirable. They would feel like living in a matchbox and the breakfast too different from their style. On the other hand, the location is great for everyone: One can walk to a subway station, the Senso-ji temple and jog along the beautiful Sumida River. There is a youth hostel behind the hotel. After this stay, I would certainly prefer this hotel.
