Petwood Hotel

Stunning building and first impressions were all very good. The room was comfortable but quite basic. Nice and quiet which is what we asked for. Thought it was a bit pricey for just the room. We also intended to have dinner in the restaurant but £32.50 for a two course meal and £21.50 for a half bottle of house wine was more than we would expect to pay! The staff were lovely and very attentive. Food in the bar was nice and reasonably priced. Some really impressive paintings and prints all over the hotel due to its RAF history which was very interesting.

Can’t praise the hotel enough, it was clean, comfortable and a perfect base for anyone wanting to explore Lincolnshire.

This was our second visit to The Petwood. This time our room in the garden wing was not quite so nice as our previous one which overlooked the car park. I understand though that it is due to be refurbished in the near future. The room was slightly cluttered and needed better bedside lighting. The bathroom has lovely Art Deco style lamps but is very dated. The beds are very comfortable though and tea and coffee was plentiful. The hotel is very interesting and has a lovely lounge and bar area. Indeed we had two meals in the bar which were very good and substantial. I have to say though that the "Small Plates" seemed very small indeed. Friends joined us for a meal and one of them had a panini and the other a small tart. There was not very much difference in price but a considerable difference in the quantity! We did not have breakfast. Staff were all very friendly and courteous and my minor comments on the room were taken in a positive manner. This is not a hotel full of bling but is reminiscent of a very comfortable country house hotel which prides itself on comfort and excellent service. We plan to visit again.

The hotel was exactly what we needed. We were there for a funeral so a sad ocassion - but the location was perfect and the staff were so friendly - it was just a lovely place to be at such a time.

Comphy room, decor a little dated and good do with a room service menu past 9pm
