Lorne Bush House Cottages & Eco Retreats

Awesome accommodation, surrounded by wildlife. We were there on a cooler night and the electric blankets made all the difference, we would stay here again!!

Pleasant and friendly owner Carol lit a fire in the cottage so that we would have a warm welcome when we returned in the evening. Much appreciated.

Everything was excellent but there was mosquitoes and flies stinging us over night and there was dead bugs on the floor. And you guys should spray the house with bug spray before any visitors stay over.

Had a relaxing get away in Lorne and this place was absolutely awesome. The host greeted us warmly, taught us how to feed the parrots on our balcony and how to light the old school wood stove. Enjoyed some wine in the spa. You know it’s a great hotel pick when you don’t want to leave. Loved every minute here. Even had a koala in our tree in the morning. Strongly recommend. So relaxing. Thank you to our hosts!!

Our stay was last minute while driving the Great Ocean Road. Last tent available and my first experience with “glamping”. It was a particularly cold night but luckily electric blankets were on beds so we had a toasty sleep. We were hoping to see more wildlife on site but no such luck. Overall, pretty rustic for the price but spacious enough to sleep four.

It was fine for what we needed - the portable heater certainly helped!

Carol is a superb host - friendly and informative. During visit gas bottle for BBQ ran out - sorted out promptly. Lovely quiet surroundings and the free birdseed a bonus and pleasant surprise. Kookaburras and cockatoos are very tame.

We were 4 adults (2 grandparents and two parents) plus a 4-year-old and a 20- month old. We (the grandparents) stayed in the very comfortable loft bedroom. The parents and two kids stayed in the bunk room—rather crowded with the crib the extremely helpful owners set up before we arrived—but our daughter reported the beds were very comfortable, and the 4-year- old loved the bunks. The whole cottage was very clean, comfortable, and well equipped in the full kitchen. The fireplace was great as it was chilly during our visit. The place is especially great for kids as there is lots of room to be outside and play—with the super bonus of wildlife—cockatoos and various other birds, and wonderfully, kangaroos—one with a Joey in her pouch! A good sized group was quite close to our deck. This was the perfect place for our two-night trip, and we’d love to go again!
