The Bridge Inn - Holmrook

Super friendly hotel in an ideal location for those wishing to be able to set off for walks around Wastwater & Wasdale leaving the car at the hotel. Very poor wifi. Family room sofa bed extremely uncomfortable

Lovely location, very friendly staff, marvellous food and a good selection of well-kept real ale. Perfect for a short stay for the family. Will definitely be back.

This is a very charming little Inn. The rooms are small but comfortable, the bed is very comfortable. The plumbing is a little quirky but the shower is hot and strong. The meal in the pub bellow is the WORST. Expensive and awful. The salmon I ordered was so overcooked it fell apart when I put my fork in it and the special potatoes with garlic and Parmesan had Jar garlic instead of fresh garlic making them inedible. This is a sign of a lazy chef if he can't be bothered to chop fresh garlic for his daily special. My husbands meal was almost as bad. As you have no other choice around the area this is particularly a sore point when booking the Bridge Inn.

The Bridge Inn was too far from anywhere to have local walks. It needs a makeover. I know it's an old property with lots of character catering for walkers. Room small and basic with just the window area to sit, which was quite claustrophobic as bathroom close to window (section of the room used to fit the very small bathroom). The bed was large and comfortable but dropped significantly to one side due to sloping floor. The bed didn't even have a headboard on it and wallpaper was patchy behind the pillows.

Room was very small and cramped. Old fashioned décor. But the location was fantastic - next to the river and in beautiful countryside,
