Hotel Demetria

The absolute worst hotel experience I've had in thirty five years . Male employees unlocking the room and coming in while I was undressed in bed, I had to yell for him to get out. When I got dressed and asked the front desk why a random man unlocked and came into my room, they said "he knocked". There was no knock , I heard his footsteps approach but he he just unlocked the door and came in. The rooms on the second floor have terrible sound quality, everything echos. I was woken up at five in the morning the first morning by industrial/garbage trucks and requested a room on a higher floor. They offered me a room on the second floor directly next to the elevator and it was constant banging from outside and people coming in and out of the elevator. One of the managers who kept insisting that the second floor room was the most quiet and that the higher levels were glass and more noises which was simply not true at all. I felt like everyone except one night manager put more effort into trying to convince me that I was wrong opposed to just helping me find a solution. Finally I was put in a really nice and absolutely quiet room on the sixth floor but within five minutes of setting my belongings down I realized the toilet had no water in it (I took photos). I tried flushing it and it started to overflow. I hadn't even had a chance to use it yet and they said maintenance was gone til the next day so the evening manager brought up a plunger yet it was unusable all night and morn

Clean room with a spacious shower. Nice wooden furniture made the room very welcoming and comfortable. Free water bottles were a plus.

Very nice hotel, great location, friendly staff. Room could have used a refresh, but enjoyed it sufficiently to go back another time.

While the hotel design is very interesting, it lacks functionality. Rooms are very dark and hard to navigate - not very practical. Front desk staff is great, whereas the restaurant and bar staff is a bit timid. WiFi service is spotty at best - dumps you regularly and requires you to log in over and over again...

Great service in a charming, modern property. The room was spacious and very clean, if not a little dark (a few more light would be welcome). Did I mention how wonderful the staff was? Excellent.
