Maingau Hotel

Great location, friendly staff and rooms are super comfortable.

I booked a comfort double, which appears to be a large room in the accompanying photo. But it was a regular size (small) double room. I often stay at the Maingau because the price is good. On my latest stay, we had a room with a connecting door (closed) to the adjoining room. We could hear every word being said by the guests in the other room. I haven't experienced that in the past at the Maingau, but it was my first time in a room with a door in the wall. This level of noise intrusion is unacceptable - no matter what else was good about the stay.

Property is located in a nice quiet part of Frankfurt but within walking distance to cafes and restaurants. I didn’t like that the room was not ready until 40 minutes past check-in time.

Most unfriendly receptionist who was South American. He was awful. I came from hospital and had a carry on bag. I needed help to get my small bag to my room not only because of my condition but mainly be ause you have to be subjected to two flights of stairs to get to the elevator then another flight after you reach your floor because the elevator stops at half floors. When I asked why nobody was able to help me with my bags, he became angry, stuck his nose up in the air and changed the subject. The room is the size of your closet. Sink inside the room, toilet and tiny shower on its own. All TV channels in German. Poor wifi. Poor wifi... Poor wifi.

The room was tiny but brand new, clean and well organized. Worked well for one person. Location was good. Staff was helpful when needed. Cutest little elevator for one person and luggage.

Had a great stay. Service was w excellent. Rooms were nice; we had a view of the park. Nice location.

The staff needs to be educated regarding purchasing from Hotel.com We prepaid for 2 nights and when we tried to check out Saturday morning, the man at the front desk told me we'd owed 186 00 I had to try and explain that Hotel .com gets their money from Expedia. com. I told him I was going to call the police if he didn't check us out . We even showed him our prepaid receipt Was not a nice way to start our day at 5:30 am.

Very clean hotel in nice areal, welcoming staff, close to good local bars and restaurants, walking distance to city

The hotel seems to be aimed at young people or budget travelers, which is fine. We were able to get a parking space in the back. The man at the registration counter gave us great tips for dinner and Apfel Wein. Which is what we went there for

We had a wonderful stay here. The beds were super comfy and the location was perfect. We loved it. The only thing missing was air conditioning. It wasn't an issue for us because the temperature wasn't too hot but if it was it could have been unpleasant. We had the windows wide open and the fresh air was enough to cool the room. We would definitely stay here again.
