Hotel Tropicana

The people were nice, the room was very clean, and a great setting on the beach! I only wish the pool would have been heated.

Hotel looks very nice outside but it is outdated inside. Rooms are on very bad condition very small TV, they don’t have a safe, parts of the room Pain is coming out, dirty floors.. etc

Tropicana is always a great place to stay especially for location in old town. Although just a basic hotel, not a resort, it's always clean and the staff are usually great. The only issue we had all week was check-in. Hotels.com, for some reason, split the reservation it 2 so there was quite a lot of trying to explain that we were actually there for 6 nights and not 4. Even after it got figured out we had to go to the front desk after 4 days and re-check in which is something you don't want to do in the middle of the day while on vacation, the beach is a much better spot to be.

There is very limited parking, the menu in their restaurant is very poor. But the location and the building is great!

Not a luxury resort but very acceptable. Great location on the beach, which is wide and clean. Nice sized swimming pool. Easy walk to numerous restaurants and the Malecon shopping area . Ate at the hotel restaurant only once but it was very good. Rooms are basic, all tile, sparse decorations. AC worked great. Bathroom was spacious and plenty of hot water. Very nice staff. A refrigerator would have been nice.

This hotel is perfect located; nearby all the tourist spots, awesome restaurants, and a beautiful beach a few steps away from the hotel.

Surprised by unexpected additional hotel charges at check in. There is no internet available in rooms. To access internet required going in lobby. Building needs about 60 million dollar upgrade. First room walls were so thin i could here conversations in detail. I was awaken the first night to the loud sound of woman screaming in next room while engaged in sex. I requested to be moved to a quiet room.

The hotel itself is a great bang for your buck, but the staff working the valet area need to get off their high horse and chill out! We were harassed the night before checkout and held us and our Uber driver against our will and practically forced to checkout even though we weren’t checking out until the following morning. We eventually left and when we returned to our room all the bedding had been stripped from our bed and our Tropicana bracelets were removed from our trash can. Still waiting on a call from hotel management...
