Hotel Maitai Polynesia Bora Bora

I did not really enjoy my stay at this hotel. It is very standard looking, there is nothing fancy about it.The hotel is divided into 2 parts by a main road. There is the “hill part” with the lobby and blocks of rooms, and a “beach part” with the bungalows on the beach and on the water. The restaurant on the beach is pretty.Food there was good and tasty, but the menu was pretty small.Checking-in, I upgraded myself from a regular King-Bed room with an ocean view to a bungalow on the water.There was a lot of space inside of the bungalow, but it looked very basic, they did not really try to decorate it nicely inside. My bungalow had a little balcony, but I did not really feel privacy there because people could clearly see me from the beach (my bungalow was the first on the water from the beach), and also I had a feeling that it was super easy to swim and get inside of my bungalow.The King-Size bed in the room was comfortable. The big problem for me was no electric plugs around the bed, and not many plugs in the room in general. The bathroom was big enough. I liked that the toilet was separated from it.Bathroom amenities were cheap. Another big issue for me was the super slow Wi-Fi. I could not open some apps and it was impossible to upload videos to my social media.And the last problem for me was a super small beach. I did not like the beach at all.Also every single day of my stay it was windy and wavy, so it was hard to get to the water and swim. The hotel’s location is good.

Excellent location with a beautiful beach. The rooms (garden room) are spacious and what you need. Perfect to explore mainland Bora Bora and to do activities.

The hotel is wonderful and the staff is even better. The views from the ocean view room were amazing. Our last two nights were spent in an overwater bungalow with snorkeling available from the deck off the room. It is located on the main island which makes it convenient for activities and shopping. The best part of the hotel was the staff who took care of every request that we had,

We were very sorry to leave 2 days early due to Covid 19. Our stay was excellent! The front desk staff was very helpful in getting us Air Tahiti reservations when our flight was cancelled and answering any questions or concerns we had regarding our return, our stay, and other questions. We were upgraded from Garden to Beach bungalow too! WOW, wonderful view and excellent accommodations. The restaurant was out of several items due to national shortages, but the meals were large portioned and delicious. We did not have the breakfast buffet as planned because the price of 32 francs was too much.I would love to return in the future!

Loved the coral garden, great and easy snorkelling

Excellent service. From getting checked in/out to transferring our luggage to another resort while we were on a excursion without a charge. Close to a market and couple other restaurants. Happy hour was great. Would highly recommend. Couldn’t beat the price.

The staff at the hotel is amazing. The hotel is located close to everything that you will ever need in Bora Bora - Matira Beach, few bars/restaurants 2 stores and the hotel organizes transfer to wherever you’ll need if you want to go somewhere that’s not walking distance

Overall property is clean and beautiful particularly for the price point. Staff friendly. Only 2 comments - would have been nice to have a la carte breakfast selections instead of buffet style only. Also, when guests are checking out it is helpful to clarify at that time, if charges are directed to credit card on hold or if alternate payment is needed.

Great Location. Reasonably priceda 9 property except for the Food. Breakfast a 4 Dinner a 6 . Food everywhere is expensive but Buffet breakfast a let down

Excellent resort style hotel for the price. Not as high end as some others but nicely laid out, pretty grounds, great view, easy walking distance to a gorgeous beach. Good snorkeling right off the hotel beach restaurant. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again. I would go to the store and get food for breakfast - the buffet was not to our liking and very expensive. The restaurant food was decent the one time we ate there but we tried some of the local places so I can’t judge. The Bira Bora Beach Club and Bloody Mary’s were both excellent.
