Atlantic Beach Hotel Newport

Great location! The hotel is a bit outdated but for the price and location, I can’t complain. The rooms are very large and the beds are comfortable. My biggest complaint was the smell of marijuana in common areas especially the elevators and stairwells.

Should have slept in my car

Horrible stay. Hotel is cheaply built so you hear the entire floor all night. People talking and slamming doors in hallways till 2 am. I’ll never stay or recommend this hotel

Great location with free parking. The room was a nice size and it was clean. Indoor pool was nice esp since it was raining out and winter time. Hotel was 5 to 10 minute drive where all the action is in Newport.

Uncomfortable

Very oddly laid out hotel. Room was clean but bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. TV is set up on bureau which makes it difficult to watch from bed. Room was near fitness center and it got loud at midnight. Heat in room was loud. Did not make for a goodnight sleep!

Highly recommend this hotel

Great updated rooms (we have stayed in 3 different rooms/suits here), very spacious, clean, and enjoyable. Most rooms have amazing water views. During this stay we were in the executive king suite which was absolutely amazing! The room was very large and would be perfect for a family trip.

Good value in off season

The hotel was conveniently located near Newport. The elevator was unusually slow to the point that I was worried that it wasn’t working when we went down. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The beds were quite firm, but comfortable enough.

Not what we expected from the pictures

I don't typically write reviews, and definitely not poor reviews but they should be aware of the needs to fix things. The location was amazing and why we chose it. The room itself looked reminiscent of the advertised picture but I would not say it was true to the advertising at all. It was old and the wall above the heater had been repaired poorly. The beds were probably "double" but two typical size adults were not comfortable sleeping in it. There was hair in the shower which in a time when enhanced cleaning should be priority is very disconcerting. The tub itself had no stopper and no way to stop water drainage. We did mention to the front desk as we checked out that it was not as advertised and she apologized but that was the extent of an offer to try to remedy it. Off season it was a pretty good deal but definitely not the standard I would expect for a Newport area hotel. It does seem like there is an older building which seemed to be ours and a newer building. Maybe the newer building is completely different.
