Sonesta ES Suites Columbia Baltimore

Upon check in I was given a different room due to the one I booked not being available. I had to request for another room shortly after since the room had things wrong inside. The room had a hole in the door next to the lock which made me feel uncomfortable. Once inside the bathroom handle on the door was broken. Ultimately I was given a better room in the place of this one. Also the guests seem to have been smoking which was against the policy even though there are signs up in the rooms stating there is a $250 fine for smoking. I’d say watch out for that. The night of check in the receptionist was pleasant however her manager whom she called on to assist me with obtaining another room was not. The manager was on a personal phone call in which she gossiped about me requesting another room to whom she was speaking with over the phone, It was very unprofessional. In the end my stay was ok for the time I was there the room had great amenities just as an apartment.

Comfy

We loved having the kitchen and it has everything we needed! It was a very comfortable place and everyone was so nice!

Not the best hotel stay experience

For the money, it was not worth it. The sofa cushion was taped up and the tub had a dead crushed roach in it. The kitchen area had crumbs on the floor and while I know weekends are busy but the room smelled just slept in. Nothing was freshened up in between guests. Pretty amazing the front desk area looks amazing, the rooms need updating.

Getaway letdown

Overnight stay for my wife and I could have been better: 1) disjointed check in process that had multiple guests waiting in a small lobby area and having to cross back and forth between lines (and the person checking us in was not very welcoming), 2) people running through the halls at all hours of the night, and 3) temperature control malfunctioned and made it extremely uncomfortable overnight (got up to 86 degrees in the room at one point). Positives - room was clean, spacious and well-stocked. Likely will not stay there again (this was our second time at this property).

Birthday nightmare

The best thing about our stay was the free onsite parking. We stayed 2 nights with two small children. The walls are super thin. Google pics and you will see exactly what the chipped furniture looks like. There were chunks of dried food on the floor as well :(. We were awakened after only the first night, by a domestic dispute happenening outside our window. By the 2nd night our entire room ( 2 bdrm suite) and floor reeked of marijuana. Needless to say, we will not stay here again.

Unreliable staff

My experience has been extremely unsatisfying. 1. The room next door had an actual birthday party: loud speakers, karaoke, heavy drinking, etc. It took the hotel staff 5 hours to resolve this matter. 2. A staff member knocked on my door at 7:55 a.m. to remind me of my checkout time. 3. I was overcharged.
